Card Kraken is one person in the United States and a lot of cardboard. There is no warehouse and no team — every card we sell was bought, sorted, scanned and listed by hand.
Each card is scanned on a flatbed scanner. Software reads the scan, identifies the exact printing, and prices it against TCGplayer market data. Then it is sleeved, listed, and it sits on a shelf about ten feet from the scanner until someone buys it.
This is the part worth knowing. Some cards genuinely cannot be told apart by their printed number — four different cards share number 15 in Celebrations: Classic Collection, ranging from about 38¢ to about $9.55. When our pricing hits a case like that and cannot resolve it, it returns no price at all and flags the card for a human to look at.
That is a deliberate choice and it costs us listings. We would rather show you nothing than show you a confident wrong number, because a wrong price is how a $9 card gets sold for 38¢ — or how someone pays $9 for 38¢ worth of cardboard.
Everything is listed on eBay, and most of it can also be bought directly here at a small discount. Same cards, same shelf, same hands packing them.
